The Support Engineer role at RIVR focuses on providing on-site technical support for the Austin office and lab, ensuring systems run smoothly for a growing team. This position is part of the IT & Security team, which manages technology for both office and manufacturing operations. The engineer will work closely with a distributed team across different time zones, maintaining production-critical systems and supporting hardware provisioning. The role requires hands-on technical skills and the ability to respond to incidents during Americas hours.

• 2+ years of software development or technical support experience
• Experience scripting in modern programming languages
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
• Professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering
• Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows endpoints, as well as networking fundamentals
• Scripting ability in Python or Bash and willingness to work with infrastructure-as-code
• Basic information-security awareness regarding access management and secure handling of systems and data

• Keep the Austin office and lab systems running through end-user support and local infrastructure management
• Image and provision laptops, desktops, and lab hardware while managing local equipment and accessories
• Provide coverage for production-critical systems during Americas hours, monitoring the production line and responding to incidents
• Own the Austin end of the distributed follow-the-sun on-call rotation, ensuring continuous coverage
• Run and maintain RIVR-specific systems, applying IaC-managed changes and contributing to monitoring improvements
• Perform physical infrastructure work in Austin, including cabling and hardware installations
