The Data Center Plant Engineer, Controls role at Google focuses on the design and operation of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems to enhance efficiencies within data centers. This position involves mentoring junior team members and collaborating with Facilities Technicians to ensure optimal performance of critical systems. Requirements
- An Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field.
- 9 years of experience working in data centers, hospitals, power plants, or other mission-critical facilities.
- Experience in project controls and programmable logic controllers.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Act as an onsite technical lead in efficiency areas and collaborate with technicians and managers to drive site-level programs.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Facilities Technicians to improve operational practices.
- Navigate organizational change processes and ensure appropriate subject matter experts are included.
- Lead site teams in commissioning processes and address quality issues or concerns.
