Job description

The Analyst role within Blackstone's Multi-Asset Investing Business and Financial Evaluation Team focuses on conducting operational due diligence of hedge fund and asset management firms. The team evaluates non-investment aspects of these firms, including operational risks and compliance. Analysts will develop technical knowledge through structured training and self-directed research, working collaboratively with various internal stakeholders. This position requires strong analytical skills and effective communication to assess and mitigate potential risks associated with investment managers.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Preferred experience within a traditional or alternative asset management firm, hedge fund administrator, or financial consulting practice.
  • Knowledge of hedge fund structures, operations, and regulatory topics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing operational due diligence reviews of third-party investment managers.
  • Lead due diligence meetings with senior manager personnel to evaluate operational infrastructure and compliance programs.
  • Serve as the primary diligence contact for an assigned portfolio of managers.
  • Review and analyze due diligence materials, including regulatory filings and financial statements.
  • Identify operational risks and work with managers to implement enhancements.
  • Perform independent verification procedures and conduct due diligence on critical third-party service providers.
  • Produce comprehensive written due diligence reports and risk assessments.
  • Monitor existing manager relationships and document conclusions through periodic reports.
  • Respond to internal and client due diligence requests with analyses and presentations.
  • Collaborate with investment professionals to support investment underwriting and manager oversight.
