Job description

As a Structural Engineering Professional at Jacobs, you will play a vital role in the design team, focusing on structural analysis and design for various projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC

Responsibilities

  • Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering and analysis under general supervision.
  • Develop judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control by checking your own work and performing calculation checking of other engineers' work.
  • Take responsibility for managing your workload and meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Clearly define your own scope and develop the ability to forecast the level of effort needed to complete that scope.
  • Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail.
