Job description

As a Resident Engineer in Transportation/Transit at Jacobs, you will oversee the construction supervision of roadway and structural improvements in Seattle, WA. This role involves extensive interface management with various stakeholders, including clients, designers, and contractors. You will lead a team to ensure that construction projects are executed safely and in accordance with contract requirements. Your focus will be on maintaining high-quality construction practices and fostering strong relationships with the project team and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Manager in an Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization
  • Experience with alternative delivery contracts is preferred, such as GCCM, DB, or PDB
  • Proven experience with large transportation projects in the Puget Sound Area
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationships

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the construction process to ensure safe and accurate implementation on site
  • Lead a team in monitoring the progress of construction projects and advising on steps to achieve project goals
  • Report on progress, safety, financial projections, quality control, and changes in contract work
  • Develop trusted relationships with the project team, contractor, and client's staff
  • Emphasize safe construction practices and maintain high-quality construction standards
