As an AI Data & Infrastructure Engineer on the Manufacturing Systems and Infrastructure (MSI) team at Apple, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, build, and operation of scalable AI data systems. This role focuses on enabling manufacturing workflow automation through advanced data pipelines and infrastructure provisioning. You will work with a diverse team dedicated to innovation and excellence in manufacturing operations. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of global factory sites.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience designing and building scalable data platforms and distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with proficiency in Java or Scala preferred.
• Experience with Airflow, Kubeflow, or MLflow to build and orchestrate scalable AI data pipelines.
• Experience building scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Spark (PySpark), Kafka, Airflow, and Ray.
• Proficiency in Pandas and modern data lake/lakehouse architectures such as Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic Systems, or RAG workflows.
• Experience with API design for both engineers and AI systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.

• Design, build, and operate scalable AI data systems for enterprise GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities.
• Develop core platform services and data pipelines to support manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate across teams to translate complex user workflows into practical technical solutions.
• Utilize modern development tools and apply sound engineering judgment to improve code quality.
• Integrate LLMs into existing systems and design APIs for seamless interaction.
• Lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers within the team.
