NVIDIA is seeking PhD-candidate interns to contribute to its Seattle Robotics Lab, which focuses on advancing robotics technology through research and development. Interns will engage in hands-on technical work, developing algorithms and methods for robotic manipulation and loco-manipulation. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers and make a significant impact in the field of robotics and AI. Interns may work on their own projects or contribute directly to ongoing research efforts.

• Enrolled in a PhD program in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of both the theory and practice of robotics and AI, with a strong interest in real-world applications.
• A demonstrated track record with first-author work published in top robotics and AI conferences and journals.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with significant team experience.
• Exceptional programming skills in Python, with familiarity in C++, CUDA, and Warp being a plus.
• Fluency in modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
• Experience in AI coding and research agents, including validation of their outputs.
• Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS2 and physics simulation frameworks like Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Newton, or MuJoCo.
• Comfort in working through the complexities of simulation and real-world robotics.

• Develop algorithms, foundation models, and methods for robotic manipulation and loco-manipulation.
• Integrate methods into real-world robotic manipulation systems, including various types of robotic arms and mobile manipulators.
• Contribute to multi-person research projects requiring diverse skills across the robotics and machine learning stack.
• Engage with the academic community through high-impact publications, conferences, workshops, and code releases.
• Develop AI agents to accelerate research and engineering while ensuring correctness, reproducibility, and security.
