Job description
The Customer Support Engineer (CSE) role at KLA involves supporting advanced Surfscan inspection systems in semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The position is part of the KLA Services team, which focuses on maximizing the value of KLA assets through technical support and service. The CSE will be a trusted technical expert, helping customers enhance equipment performance and minimize downtime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting and direct customer interaction to solve complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Military Technical Training, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, or semiconductor equipment.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing complex systems and equipment.
- Ability to work independently in dynamic customer environments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work in semiconductor manufacturing and cleanroom environments.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain highly sophisticated semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
- Perform board-level and system-level troubleshooting on advanced capital equipment.
- Partner with customers to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to installation and service teams.
- Document service activities and collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve recurring issues.
- Prepare service reports and assist with customer quotations for labor, travel, and replacement parts.
- Help drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the service organization.
- Work independently while collaborating closely with customers, peers, and management.
