Job description
The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer at KLA will develop innovative mechanical design solutions to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. This role is part of the Film and Scatterometry Technology division, which focuses on advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The engineer will work throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating closely with various engineering disciplines. The main focus will be on driving requirement specifications, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring flawless integration and testing.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree with 5+ years of related work experience, Master's degree with 8+ years, or Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal forming, and 3D printing.
- Solid knowledge of precision machine design and basic knowledge of vacuum systems.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods.
- Experience in 3D solid modeling, preferably with Creo or Solidworks.
Responsibilities
- Drive requirement specification and conduct feasibility studies.
- Perform conceptual and detailed design using 3D solid modeling.
- Conduct various analyses, including fluid, thermal, vibrational, and FEA modeling.
- Hold design reviews throughout the design process and procure prototype parts.
- Assemble and test prototypes, ensuring system integration and testing.
