Job description
NVIDIA is looking for a computer architect to enhance the performance of future high-performance computing systems, particularly focusing on memory systems and energy efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CPU/GPU architecture and a strong understanding of power analysis. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a leading technology company known for its innovative GPUs and computing solutions. Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in CPU/GPU architecture and memory systems design with a focus on energy efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expertise in power analysis and modeling in pipeline-based architectures.
- Good understanding of power analysis tools like Ansys Power Artist and Synopsys PTPX.
- Experience with C, C++, and some scripting languages.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative high-performance processor and system architectures with a focus on memory systems and energy efficiency.
- Enhance architecture and micro-architecture features to improve GPU memory systems along the axes of performance per watt, performance per millimeter, and performance per dollar.
- Develop and enhance architecture prototype models for power and noise analysis.
- Participate in performance and power simulation of features to analyze and improve energy per byte.
- Analyze benchmarks, application workloads, and performance/power simulation results to identify areas for architecture optimizations.
- Debug power, performance, and functional issues using high-level models, RTL simulation, emulation, silicon, and systems.
- Collaborate with outside partners on system infrastructure.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
