The Alexa AI Logistics for Infrastructure, Cost, and Efficiency (ALICE) team is seeking Software Development Engineers to enhance AI infrastructure that supports millions of Alexa customers. This role focuses on building large-scale distributed systems and optimizing GPU fleet management for machine learning workloads. Engineers will collaborate with senior team members to deliver impactful features and ensure operational excellence. The position offers an opportunity to work on high-visibility projects that are crucial for the future of Alexa's AI capabilities.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
• Experience in developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or other AI acceleration hardware

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure services
• Work on GPU fleet management and optimization for low-latency machine learning inference workloads
• Collaborate with senior engineers/scientists to deliver features from design through production deployment
• Set standards and contribute to the operational excellence of Tier-1 production services
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code and participate actively in code reviews
• Work closely with partner teams across Alexa and AWS to deliver cross-functional projects
• Research and identify opportunities to improve service performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
