The Network Development Engineer role at AWS focuses on delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions for next-generation IP networks. You will be part of the EDGE team within the Global Connectivity and Network Availability organization, collaborating with a diverse group of engineers and specialists. The main focus is on network operations, deployments, and optimizations to ensure efficient internet traffic management. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex networking challenges while contributing to the stability and sustainability of AWS infrastructure.

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Server Load Balancers, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS, etc.

• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Work closely with automation teams to define scaling tools.
• Lead network projects in areas such as sustaining engineering and network optimization.
• Provide critical network support to diagnose and resolve large-scale networking events.
• Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues.
• Drive innovation across the network infrastructure.
• Partner with the broader Network/Infrastructure organization on engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams for smooth roll-out of new designs and products.
• Maintain compliance with networking standards and policies.
• Create and review documentation regarding network implementations and procedures.
