This role is part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, focusing on building AI teammate capabilities in a small, agile lab environment. The team aims to create innovative technology solutions that enhance human-AI collaboration, emphasizing the design philosophy of Humorphism. As an Applied Scientist, you will develop and deploy new capabilities, ensuring their adoption and integration into product teams. The position requires a blend of software development expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and operations
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals
• Experience building with large language models or agent frameworks in a product
• Experience learning an unfamiliar language or runtime to solve a problem
• Experience embedded in another team, with responsibility for adoption of your work
• Experience building native mobile applications
• Experience with multimodal input or output, such as audio or video
• Experience partnering with design, product, and behavioral research

• Build AI teammate capabilities in the Lab from a thesis to a working product
• Implement experiments designed by the Applied Scientist and turn research results into working software
• Deploy into a product team and drive your capability into their product
• Own adoption of what you build and measure its success
• Identify and correct breakdowns in the host team's hands
• Partner with UX designers and product teams to deliver complete humorphic experiences
• Transfer architecture and scaling to the product team with proper documentation
• Contribute your work back into the shared humorphic layer for future capabilities
• Learn unfamiliar languages, runtimes, and problem domains as needed
• Write tested code and review the code of others
• Present work to the host team and participate in internal reviews
