As a CAE Engineer II at Rivian, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and dynamic safety of the company's Interior Hard Trims and Door Trim systems. • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Automotive Interior CAE.
• Proficiency in LS-DYNA or ABAQUS for non-linear analysis.
• Experience with pre/post-processors such as ANSA, HyperWorks, and META.
• Specialized expertise in interior plastic design guidelines and polymer behavior.
• Knowledge of Interior Safety and Occupant Protection standards.

• Model complex non-linear dynamic, structural, and abuse load cases for Door Trim assemblies.
• Predict crashworthiness and airbag deployment dynamics.
• Evaluate injection-molded plastics and foams under thermal variations.
• Accurately model interior attachment methods and validate virtual models against test results.
• Collaborate with CAD and Design engineers to implement lightweighting and optimize rib patterns.
