As a Principal Research Scientist in Pet Health Clinical Development at Elanco, you will lead the development of global clinical programs for pet health products, focusing on dermatology and therapeutics. This role involves planning and executing studies in compliance with regulatory standards, authoring protocols, and managing relationships with internal teams and external partners. You will work closely with various departments to ensure timely and quality delivery of projects. Your contributions will help advance Elanco's innovation pipeline and improve animal health.

• A DVM or a Ph.D. in an animal health related field is preferred, with an MS and relevant experience considered.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product development within or closely associated with the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Outstanding organization, motivation, and communication skills are required.
• Current knowledge of all pertinent global, national, and federal regulations for therapeutic products is necessary.

• Formulate comprehensive clinical development plans for new products.
• Execute individual clinical programs in cooperation with other teams.
• Design and write protocols for laboratory and field efficacy studies.
• Select suitable research facilities and qualified researchers to execute protocols.
• Coordinate study monitoring according to applicable regulations and company policies.
• Analyze and interpret results with support from other teams and author study reports.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to prepare reports and data for submission to regulatory agencies.
• Attend scientific meetings and continuing education courses to stay updated on industry advancements.
