Job description
The Embedded Systems Engineer for High Speed DSP at Google will focus on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration. This role involves driving the development of custom silicon solutions that power Google's TPU technology. The engineer will work at the intersection of digital signal processing, hardware-software co-design, and real-time systems. The position is part of a team dedicated to delivering breakthrough capabilities and insights to Google customers worldwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of industry experience in embedded systems, communication systems engineering, or digital signal processing development.
- Experience developing embedded software in C/C++ for high-speed physical-layer interfaces, digital transceivers, or communication subsystems.
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term firmware roadmap and hardware-software partitioning for physical-layer interfaces.
- Architect advanced monitoring systems and firmware-driven diagnostics to track physical-layer link health in real-time.
- Design, model, and implement firmware to control high-speed transceivers, managing real-time adaptive loops and physical-layer calibration.
- Partner with TPU Systems and Networking Software teams to ensure seamless integration of silicon firmware with global cluster management.
- Identify and de-risk hardware-software interface bottlenecks impacting Google's AI infrastructure.
