Job description

The Structural Engineer will join Jacobs' Northwest team, focusing on conventional design and design/build projects for water and wastewater clients. This role involves leading the design of facilities such as pump stations and treatment plants, while also developing technical reports and construction drawings. The engineer will collaborate with a network of structural engineers and have opportunities for career growth through mentorship programs. The position emphasizes teamwork and the use of advanced software tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a structural engineer.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Structural Engineer (S.E.) license or eligibility to obtain it within six months of hire is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering emphasis; master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software such as STAAD.PRO, TEDDS, SAP2000, RAM Elements, and Mathcad.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of water and wastewater facilities including pump stations and treatment plants.
  • Develop project-specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with local and national experts to ensure project success.
  • Provide construction phase support services for various projects.
  • Work effectively in multi-discipline project teams.
