The Quantum Security Intern will work with the IBM Quantum security team to enhance the compliance and security of IBM Cloud accounts. This role focuses on assessing cloud account configurations and improving security tooling. The intern will collaborate with engineering teams to address security findings and enhance automated monitoring tools. This position is ideal for students pursuing a career in cybersecurity or information security.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• Foundational understanding of cloud security concepts, including IAM, encryption, network security, and logging/monitoring.
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Assess IBM Cloud account configurations against compliance frameworks and document gaps.
• Design, build, and enhance automated tooling to monitor cloud account compliance.
• Support remediation of identified security and compliance findings with engineering teams.
• Document security controls, compliance evidence, and tooling runbooks for internal reviews.
• Present findings and tooling improvements to the team throughout the internship.
