Job description
The role is focused on cloud capacity buffer planning within Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain organization. It involves strategic leadership and executive alignment to optimize cloud capacity buffer targets and drive transformation in planning processes. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including engineering and finance, to manage risks and opportunities. The successful candidate will provide insights and recommendations to executives, ensuring alignment with Microsoft's broader cloud business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud capacity buffer planning at a strategic level by framing tradeoffs, scenarios, and implications for senior leadership.
- Own and lead monthly planning cycles to generate optimal cloud capacity buffer targets.
- Define and drive the long term roadmap for cloud capacity buffer planning transformation.
- Identify, assess, and communicate systemic capacity and buffer related risks and opportunities.
- Establish strong partnerships with senior leaders across various teams to align on shared goals.
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for cloud capacity buffer planning models and analytics.
- Define the north star metrics and success criteria for buffer effectiveness at an enterprise level.
- Serve as the primary thought leader for cloud capacity buffer strategy, providing insights and recommendations to executives.
