Job description
The Entry Level Structural Engineer position at Jacobs in Arlington, VA, is an exciting opportunity to join the Federal Buildings team. This role focuses on delivering structural engineering solutions for federal projects while expanding into the private sector. The engineer will work on a variety of projects, including new multi-building complexes and renovations of historic structures. With mentorship from experienced professionals, the candidate will develop a solid foundation in structural engineering principles and practices.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship is required, as candidates with OPT or other visa-related work authorization cannot be considered.
- A Master's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is necessary.
- Previous relevant internship experience in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Candidates must live within a commutable distance from the Jacobs office, as this position is hybrid and requires at least two days in the office each week.
- Internet service with a minimum speed of 25Mbps download and 10Mbps upload is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform increasingly complex calculations and analysis as the structural design is developed.
- Collaborate with Designers to communicate structural requirements effectively.
- Assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for various projects.
- Manage personal workload and take ownership of the structural scope.
- Ensure quality control and attention to detail in all work.
