IBM Quantum is looking for a motivated Software Developer Intern to join their engineering team. The intern will work alongside experienced developers and researchers to enhance software that powers the IBM Quantum platform. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world engineering challenges while learning modern software development practices. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects and work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing software through coursework, internships, research projects, personal projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions.
• Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, testing, and debugging.
• Familiarity with application development concepts, including APIs, relational databases (SQL), version control, and modern development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery of software that supports the IBM Quantum platform.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and features, delivering production-quality code.
• Collaborate with developers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and implement effective solutions.
• Engage in the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Contribute across multiple areas of the software stack, including backend services, APIs, databases, and user-facing applications.
