The Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer will be part of Apple's Infrastructure Services team, focusing on the commissioning lifecycle of mechanical systems in data centers. This role emphasizes technical oversight and leadership, managing third-party Commissioning Agents to ensure the successful execution of various testing phases. The engineer will work on large-scale mechanical cooling systems and fire protection systems, contributing to the operation of Apple's global network. The position requires a blend of practical expertise and the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of direct experience commissioning or managing the commissioning of mechanical and HVAC systems in a Hyperscale data center environment.
• Understanding of large-scale mechanical cooling systems such as central chilled water plants and CRAH/CRAC units.
• Experience with the commissioning, testing, and validation of data center fire protection and suppression systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of mission-critical mechanical commissioning leadership experience.
• Experience with commissioning management software platforms for script management and project reporting.
• Practical knowledge of Building Automation Systems and Direct Digital Control platforms.

• Govern the end-to-end commissioning lifecycle by managing third-party Commissioning Agents.
• Direct all project phases including design commissionability reviews and Functional Performance Testing.
• Develop, review, and oversee the execution of Level 4 and Level 5 test scripts and procedures.
• Resolve complex field engineering challenges and conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
• Utilize data trending and BMS telemetry to evaluate equipment performance and plant efficiency.
• Enhance daily work using AI tools for commissioning script authoring and operational telemetry analysis.
