The Sr. Product Design Engineer role at Amazon Web Services focuses on designing and developing electrical distribution products, particularly diesel generators, for AWS data centers. The Electrical Products and Services team is responsible for continuous innovation and ensuring world-class uptime for customers. • 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power generation.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.
• Experience in Backup Generator design with exhaust aftertreatment, Switchgear, or HVAC systems.
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License is preferred.

• Lead new product design, development, and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers.
• Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and federal, state, and municipal requirements across different countries.
• Validate design through prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds.
• Collaborate with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installation and performance.
• Provide support for manufacturing activities for new products on concurrent projects.
