Job description
As a Silicon Component Reliability Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in the design and qualification of next-generation processors and system-on-chip (SoC) products. You will work closely with multi-functional teams and third parties to ensure high-quality product introduction and reliability. Your focus will be on driving product and process qualification, implementing reliability stress tests, and overseeing supplier performance. This position requires a strong background in semiconductor engineering and a passion for innovation.
Requirements
- BS degree in a relevant field.
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor engineering, specifically in Reliability and/or Quality/Product Engineering.
- Experience with JEDEC reliability and quality-related standards.
- Familiarity with silicon product level reliability qualification and lifetime behavior models.
- Prior experience in defining hardware setups and equipment for various tests.
- Validated auditing experience of supplier sites, materials, and processes.
- Experience in driving suppliers in silicon Fab process, packaging, assembly, and ongoing reliability monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Drive requirements and execution of products, process, and package qualification.
- Lead all aspects of qualification preparation, including material and waveform considerations.
- Implement process flows and workmanship standards while supervising product performance.
- Perform First Article Inspection to ensure critical goals are met before production release.
- Investigate and resolve qualification fallouts and product nonconformance issues.
- Support PCN or ECN activities as needed.
- Conduct supplier audits when necessary.
- Assess and perform yield analysis and correlation analysis for all levels of testing.
- Guide suppliers for improvement in their processes.
