The role is for an experienced systems engineer in Apple's Platform Architecture group, which focuses on integrating hardware and software into a unified system. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to develop and verify new hardware/software interface technologies for chip development. The engineer will also support silicon engineering teams working on next-generation chips.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience programming in C++
• Experience with multi-threading/concurrency
• Experience with a scripting language such as Python or Lua
• Experience with debugging and profiling tools
• Experience with C++17 or later, including templates for compile-time optimizations
• Experience with SystemVerilog, HDL simulation tools, and protocols such as AXI
• Experience with atomics and memory ordering
• Experience moving data over sockets, shared memory, or PCIe
• Experience with internal customer support
• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills

• Support the development of new hardware/software interface technologies for chip development and verification
