Job description

The Software Integrity Engineer role at Apple focuses on validating and advancing location algorithms that power various Apple products. The position is part of the Sensing and Connectivity team, which aims to enhance the accuracy and reliability of location services. The engineer will work at the intersection of algorithm development and quality engineering, ensuring that location algorithms meet Apple's high standards. This role requires a deep understanding of GNSS positioning and involves hands-on work with validation infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in GNSS testing, positioning validation, or wireless system verification.
  • Experience building and shipping ML or AI systems, in production or through significant project work.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and scripting with prior experience in design and development of automated test harnesses and data analysis tooling.
  • Experience with setting up and maintaining test benches for GNSS/A-GNSS simulation equipment and live signal rooftop testing.
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies and test automation strategy.
  • Experience in debugging logs to triage and root-cause issues.
  • Knowledge of the chipset validation lifecycle, from silicon bring-up through production-level algorithm tuning.
  • Understanding of A-GNSS protocols, multi-constellation processing, and sensor-fusion architectures.
  • Ability to read and interpret 3GPP location-service specifications and translate logs to verify misses against conformance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, characterize, and improve the accuracy, reliability, and performance of location algorithms.
  • Design experiments and build analysis pipelines to validate location algorithms.
  • Run validation campaigns to ensure algorithms meet Apple's rigorous standards.
  • Sustain the operational foundation of validation infrastructure, including the health and readiness of devices and test rigs.
  • Drive cross-functional communications and manage dependencies to maintain tight timelines.
  • Present algorithm validation results to cross-functional audiences.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
