Apple's Camera Performance team is seeking an engineer focused on optimizing camera power and performance to enhance image quality and user experience. The role involves analyzing and optimizing camera performance across Apple's product range while collaborating with software and hardware teams. The engineer will utilize profiling and analysis tools to identify optimizations and ensure alignment of image processing algorithms with silicon capabilities. This position offers extensive exposure to GPU and Apple Neural Engine hardware.

• Proficiency in C, C++, or Objective-C
• Knowledge of operating systems, systems, computer architecture, and electrical engineering
• Experience with virtual memory, scheduling, IPC, and synchronization
• Expertise in software profiling techniques and tools such as Xcode, valgrind, and Instruments
• Ability to quickly understand and debug unfamiliar codebases
• Prior experience in real-time audio/video processing pipeline development
• Proven ability to debug performance issues and implement system-level memory and latency optimizations
• Proficiency with GPU and TPU hardware for image processing and AI/ML workloads
• History of making data-driven decisions and recommendations
• CS degree or equivalent experience
