The Senior Software Development Engineer will join the AWS Supply Chain team, focusing on designing, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems and data pipelines. This role involves working closely with product, finance, and procurement teams to create software that optimizes AWS's hardware supply chain. The team is dedicated to integrating machine learning and automation into their processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Candidates should be prepared to mentor other engineers and drive technical excellence within a collaborative environment.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• A track record of identifying where automation or ML can replace manual effort
• Experience building and productionizing ML or statistical models for prediction or estimation
• Experience designing and shipping agentic or LLM-powered workflows
• Experience integrating foundation models into backend services
• Experience building large-scale distributed backend services and data pipelines

• Design, implement, and deploy large-scale, secure, low-latency services and data pipelines for AWS hardware pricing and sourcing.
• Lead the development of ML and statistical models for cost estimation and forecasting.
• Build agentic and LLM-powered workflows to automate manual steps in quoting and sourcing.
• Decompose complex supply-chain problems into simple solutions and understand system interdependencies.
• Partner with Finance and procurement teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Share knowledge in performance, scalability, and engineering best practices while mentoring engineers.
