The DCEO Principal Engineer at Amazon is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the Data Center Engineering Operations for the AMER region. This position focuses on ensuring the availability and reliability of data center operations while leading cross-functional teams in technical program management, engineering, and operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical acumen and leadership skills, driving a safety-first culture and operational excellence. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on troubleshooting of critical infrastructure systems.

• 10+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance or data center experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering registration or 5+ years of experience managing and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Experience with large-scale technical operations or compute farms.

• Drive a safety-first culture in adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Lead the Data Center engineering staff across the region.
• Partner with senior leaders to prevent Large Scale Events and Critical Site Events.
• Work with construction teams to validate installation and performance of MEP systems.
• Maintain existing IT and mechanical infrastructure while pioneering new technology.
• Provide support for root-cause analysis and long-term corrective measures.
• Act as a mentor and subject matter expert to operations staff.
• Oversee and plan infrastructure goals for key initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse technical backgrounds.
