The Video Applications team at Apple is seeking a Software Developer in Test with experience in macOS/iOS apps, video codecs, and metadata. This role focuses on performance testing and automation for native applications, ensuring high software quality for innovative tools aimed at creative professionals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software testing and a strong background in automation development. You will work closely with a team of quality engineers to enhance the performance and reliability of our applications.

• At least 2+ years of experience in Python or Swift
• At least 5 years of experience in test automation and/or tools and automation development
• Experience with testing tools used to track and assess native application performance
• Understanding of software and hardware performance testing methodologies
• Software engineering skills and computer science fundamentals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience utilizing AI tools to automate workflows
• Hands-on experience with native application automation frameworks
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• Experience in DevOps and related automation development
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
• Experience with Xcode, Xcode Instruments, XCTest, Swift
• Experience with Go and Scala
• Experience with industry-leading video and photo editing applications
• Experience developing performance-focused test plans for critical applications
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML-enabled feature testing

• Define and develop performance testing test cases, including metrics and benchmarks.
• Contribute to delivering a scalable performance and automation infrastructure.
• Plan, design, write, maintain, and execute test cases manually and through automation.
• Drive quality and process improvements to ensure features are ready for release.
• Report bugs with effective isolation and regression techniques.
• Manage priorities and communicate progress and risks effectively.
• Coordinate multi-functional test efforts with team members.
