The role involves overseeing the development of architectural frameworks to support agile feature-development teams at Fidelity. The individual will define and implement architectural governance, ensuring scalable and extendable architecture while directing development teams through all phases of product development. This position requires a strong focus on adopting architectural design patterns and engineering best practices, as well as maintaining oversight of product quality and delivery risks. The candidate will also participate in quality validation activities and vendor evaluations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and six years of experience as a Director, Architecture, or a closely related occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the same fields and four years of experience as a Director, Architecture, or a closely related occupation.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing responsive Web applications using JavaScript MVC frameworks, client-side technologies, server-side technologies, and cloud services.
• Experience in designing and architecting scalable software solutions using object-oriented design principles and established software design patterns.
• Expertise in architecting and delivering enterprise-grade data and analytics solutions.

• Set, communicate, and govern technical standards throughout the product development organization.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture policies, standards, and patterns.
• Influence planning of technical debt as part of product roadmap planning.
• Provide vision and leadership for all aspects of establishing and managing the architecture discipline.
• Maintain product architecture documentation in accordance with enterprise standards.
• Review and ensure accuracy of critical application attributes.
• Participate in sprint and system demos for agile teams and recommend areas for improvement.
• Develop and oversee software testing, validation, and documentation processes to monitor product quality.
• Lead and contribute to vendor evaluations.
