Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an Applications Engineer to focus on customer enablement of enterprise products in a datacenter environment. This highly technical role involves collaborating with OEM partners to resolve hardware, firmware, and software issues while providing both offsite and onsite support. The engineer will work closely with internal teams to generate hardware design collateral and ensure successful customer designs using NVIDIA datacenter products. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to travel for onsite support are essential for this position.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in supporting enterprise datacenter products for x86 or ARM architecture.
  • Experience using Cadence Allegro Schematic Design Entry and Allegro PCB Layout.
  • Experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and logic analyzers.
  • Background in power integrity concepts, signal integrity principles, and high-speed board design methodologies.
  • Understanding of x86 and ARM system architecture for server design including BMC, security, and out of band management.
  • Professional-level interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with OEM customers through their design, validation, and production flows.
  • Provide onsite support for bring-up and debug of OEM server hardware.
  • Understand system design requirements for HPC and AI workloads to drive platform configuration guides.
  • Review customer designs with respect to architecture proposals and provide feedback.
  • Analyze data to answer questions, reproduce errors, resolve issues, or escalate customer problems.
  • Perform hardware debug using oscilloscopes and analyzers to validate and solve NVIDIA products.
  • Track and file new bugs and reproduce issues as needed.
  • Resolve system integration issues related to thermal, mechanical, electrical, PCIe, and GPU interconnect interfaces.
  • Create product specifications, hardware design guides, application notes, and other supporting technical collateral.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
