The Hardware Validation Engineer for Data Center Engineering Labs at Google will bridge the gap between data center operations and systems engineering. This role involves maintaining and deploying early-stage hardware systems in a lab environment. The engineer will work closely with design engineers to ensure successful New Product Introductions (NPI). The position requires a mix of technical expertise and project management skills to support innovative hardware solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience in a data center operations or facilities technical environment, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Experience in systems validation and testing.
• Experience with Linux operating systems, networking/cabling infrastructure, and physical hardware troubleshooting.

• Manage end-to-end physical deployment, rack-level integration, power-up, and network turn-up of prototype systems.
• Perform physical reworks on development equipment, including upgrading thermal interface materials and implementing custom network cabling topologies.
• Coordinate timelines and logistics for New Product Introductions, collaborating with design engineers.
• Develop scripting automation and design custom dashboard monitoring tools to track lab infrastructure health.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network connectivity issues to maintain operational environments.
