The Staff Software Engineer for Global Networking Technology at Google will focus on developing innovative network applications and infrastructure that significantly impact Google's network behavior. This role is part of the AI and Infrastructure team, which is dedicated to delivering AI and infrastructure solutions at scale. The engineer will work on critical projects that enhance Google's capabilities and empower customers with advanced technologies. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive projects and influence stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
• Experience with design and delivery of network and routing software.

• Be the Subject Matter Expert on features used for Google WAN in network operating systems.
• Drive open config adoption across the GNT platforms and across the industry.
• Design and develop infrastructure for running network applications in a decentralized manner.
• Design and develop new and innovative network applications that will have a direct and material impact on Google’s network behavior.
• Work with the broader ecosystem on validating features from vendors and delivering high-quality solutions.
