Job description
Qualcomm is seeking a Director-level System Lead to drive next-generation mobile system solutions by engaging with OEMs and understanding emerging use cases. This role involves collaborating with hardware, software, and foundational IP systems teams to translate market needs into actionable system architectures. The position requires a forward-looking approach to enhance product and system designs for improved efficiency and performance. The successful candidate will lead system-level innovation and ensure alignment with Qualcomm's mobile product roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 10+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 9+ years, or a PhD with 8+ years.
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor product development.
- 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Analyze new and emerging OEM and customer use cases and map them to Qualcomm's hardware and software solutions.
- Propose architectural enhancements and optimizations for next-generation product planning.
- Drive system-level trade-off analysis across power, performance, cost, latency, and thermal constraints.
- Influence architectural direction across compute, multimedia pipelines, AI acceleration, memory subsystems, and power management.
- Collaborate with core systems, hardware design, software, and product management teams to define product roadmap intercepts.
- Act as a system and OEM advocate, contributing to technical priorities and budget decisions.
- Communicate system architectures and implementation strategies to senior technical leaders and stakeholders.
- Lead strategic problem solving in environments with ambiguous OEM requirements.
- Identify architectural gaps and drive differentiated system-level innovations.
- Contribute to Qualcomm's intellectual property portfolio by inventing and filing patents.
