Job description

The Principal System Power Management and Performance Architect at NVIDIA will work at the intersection of workload behavior, silicon capabilities, and platform constraints to develop system-level architectures that enhance power and performance across multiple silicon generations. This role is part of the Silicon Co-Design Group, which focuses on system-level co-design ideas and product differentiation. The architect will lead initiatives in power management strategies and system-level processes while collaborating with various teams across NVIDIA. The position requires a deep understanding of power management techniques and a history of guiding architecture decisions in high-performance platforms.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of system architecture, development, and validation experience with a focus on power and performance optimization.
  • A verifiable history of guiding architecture decisions that shipped across multiple silicon programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of HSIO power management, DVFS, P-states, and low-power entry/exit architecture.
  • Strong fundamentals in low-power design and rack-level performance architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Define the multi-generation roadmap for system-level power and performance features.
  • Own the architecture and integration strategy for HSIO power management and low-power features.
  • Lead system-level boot and IST architecture for complex multi-IP systems.
  • Drive power management strategy at datacenter scale, including rack-level power telemetry.
  • Identify and redesign system-level processes that break under new product requirements.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
