Job description

This role in NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group focuses on silicon speed characterization and validation. The team bridges the gap between design and production, ensuring that silicon performance meets architectural intent. The ideal candidate will analyze discrepancies between pre-silicon predictions and actual silicon performance, driving resolutions for any issues found. This position requires a blend of circuit design thinking, experimental work, and data analysis skills.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, post-silicon speed validation, frequency characterization, or timing analysis on real hardware.
  • Strong fundamentals in computer architecture, including pipeline structures, clocking, and memory hierarchies.
  • Depth in static timing analysis and critical path identification.
  • Proficiency in silicon margining, guard-banding, and PVT/binning dependencies.
  • Scripting proficiency in Python, Perl, or C/C++.

Responsibilities

  • Own silicon speed characterization from first power-on through production sign-off.
  • Close the correlation gap between pre-silicon timing analysis and measured silicon.
  • Trace failures to their source and drive resolution.
  • Build AI agents for automated test orchestration and intelligent data pipelines.
  • Provide data that surfaces tradeoffs across architecture, VLSI, ASIC, firmware, and product teams.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
