Job description

The Thin Films Senior Process Engineer will focus on supporting PVD, CVD, and ALD technologies for thin-film deposition in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role involves driving continuous improvement in process performance and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance manufacturing efficiency. The engineer will also lead process development initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Overall, the position is critical for advancing technology and operational excellence in semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, plus 4+ years of semiconductor manufacturing process engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, plus 2+ years of semiconductor manufacturing process engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience partnering with vendor field service engineers and manufacturing/engineering technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced expertise in thin-film deposition processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream partners to deliver manufacturing improvements.
  • Own manufacturing processes and/or equipment to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for complex projects across multiple teams.
  • Support manufacturing capacity expansion and technology transfer activities.
  • Partner with equipment vendors to troubleshoot technical challenges and improve tool performance.
  • Lead process development initiatives for high-volume manufacturing technologies.
  • Design and optimize excursion prevention and detection systems.
  • Lead equipment installation, conversion, qualification, and readiness activities.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process and equipment issues.
