As a Software Development Engineer II on the Amazon Lightsail team, you will develop features and services that simplify cloud infrastructure for developers and small businesses. The team focuses on making AWS accessible and user-friendly, while expanding capabilities like website and agent hosting. You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from understanding customer needs to deployment and operations. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

• Design and build features for Amazon Lightsail's distributed systems using Java, Go, JavaScript, and React.
• Collaborate with partner teams across AWS to integrate Lightsail capabilities with the broader AWS ecosystem.
• Own the operational health of the services you build by identifying root causes of production issues and driving permanent fixes.
• Participate actively in design reviews and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates.
• Evaluate new technologies and approaches to improve team productivity and the quality of solutions delivered to customers.
