Job description
The Data Center Controls Engineer will be part of the global controls team, focusing on troubleshooting, project management, and maintaining building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS). This role involves collaborating with experts in the data center industry to innovate and develop new processes. The engineer will manage vendor relationships, budgets, and schedules while ensuring compliance with operational standards. The team supports AWS data centers, ensuring reliable infrastructure for cloud services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments such as data centers.
- 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience associated with construction and project execution.
- Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Train and assist internal customers with the creation and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
- Provide technical assistance and support to operations during the life cycle of the data center.
- Develop BMS and EPMS project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and levels of effort.
- Manage the scope, schedule, finance, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects.
- Participate in the AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate technical support.
