The Software Engineer for Photos Core Data and Server at Google will focus on developing and improving infrastructure for Google Photos, a highly sought-after product. This role involves working on both client-side and server-side technologies, including artificial intelligence tools. The engineer will contribute to building new APIs and enhancing existing systems to support core services. The team aims to deliver a holistic consumer cloud offering that enriches user experiences.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Coding skills with experience in Java and Backend.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.

• Write product or system development code.
• Contribute to developing new infrastructure and improving existing infrastructure to support Photos core services and product teams.
• Build new APIs, write new business logic, and change databases to support new features in Google Photos.
• Make infrastructure changes to improve the efficiency and scale of systems.
• Work heavily with artificial intelligence tools, agents, and systems designed to automate, accelerate, and assist in writing, testing, and deploying code.
