The Autonomy Platform Engineer role at DoorDash Labs focuses on developing foundational software for the autonomy stack used in robotics and automation. This independent team aims to transform last mile logistics through innovative solutions. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including autonomy, firmware, and hardware engineers, to enhance system performance and reliability. The position is hybrid, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

• Strong production experience in C++ and Python.
• Experience with embedded Linux, robotics, or autonomous vehicles.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, concurrency, and networking.
• Experience debugging complex problems across software and hardware layers.
• Familiarity with Bazel, Git, and modern software-development practices.
• Preferred experience with ROS/ROS2 or comparable robotics middleware.

• Build and maintain core runtime, middleware, and platform services for autonomy applications.
• Enable new compute, camera, lidar, and other sensor platforms.
• Improve process orchestration, messaging, and fault recovery.
• Develop system observability and performance measurement capabilities.
• Create reliable data capture, replay, and debugging workflows.
• Lead complex debugging across application, middleware, OS, and hardware boundaries.
