The Security Research Engineer will work at Microsoft's Greenwood Cyber + AI Lab in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing on applied research in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to address real-world security challenges through technical research and experimentation. The engineer will help translate complex security issues into actionable use cases and prototypes, contributing to the lab's mission of enhancing cybersecurity innovation. • Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis or modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and/or anomaly detection.
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 2+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis or modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and/or anomaly detection.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
• Ability to work on-site at the Greenwood Cyber + AI Lab in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

• Conduct applied security research across emerging cybersecurity and AI challenges.
• Translate real-world challenges into well-defined technical use cases and research questions.
• Design, build, test, and iterate on technical prototypes and AI-enabled security workflows.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and document findings for collaboration with partner teams.
• Connect experimentation in Tulsa with Microsoft Security research and engineering.
• Collaborate with local startups, universities, and community partners to strengthen the cybersecurity ecosystem.
