The Senior Software Engineer role within the Fleet Health Team at Microsoft 365 Core Platform focuses on enhancing the reliability and efficiency of Microsoft 365 services. The team develops intelligent systems that analyze telemetry data to predict hardware failures and optimize fleet operations. This position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions that improve infrastructure health. Candidates should have a strong background in software engineering, data science, and AI applications.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python is preferred.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems and cloud services at scale is preferred.
• Experience with telemetry and data platforms such as Azure Data Explorer, Spark, Fabric, or Databricks is preferred.

• Design and build large-scale distributed services that improve fleet reliability, hardware health, and operational efficiency.
• Develop telemetry and analytics platforms that process and analyze infrastructure health signals at hyperscale.
• Build predictive models and intelligent services for hardware failure detection and repair recommendations.
• Analyze telemetry from various infrastructure components to identify opportunities for improving reliability and availability.
• Partner with hardware, reliability, and capacity planning teams to develop data-driven operational strategies.
• Build AI-assisted experiences that accelerate incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Design and implement safe automation and remediation workflows to reduce operational burden.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and live-site operations.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering excellence across the organization.
• Drive projects from design through deployment and operational ownership.
