The Senior Cloud Network Security Engineer at Microsoft Specialized Clouds (MSC) is responsible for designing, deploying, and operating network security monitoring capabilities for sovereign and government cloud environments. This role emphasizes network security telemetry, threat detection, and operational ownership of critical security services. The engineer will leverage automation and AI to enhance monitoring and incident response. The position requires strong expertise in network security and collaboration with various teams to ensure service reliability and compliance.

• Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field, or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, and security incident and event management (SIEM).
• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
• Verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions.

• Design, deploy, and manage network security platforms including firewalls, proxies, and traffic inspection solutions.
• Configure network security devices to export logs, flow records, packet telemetry, and security events to centralized monitoring platforms.
• Develop and maintain network security detections, alerts, and analytics to identify malicious activity and emerging threats.
• Analyze packet captures, firewall logs, and network telemetry to support threat investigations and incident response.
• Build and maintain security telemetry pipelines for actionable visibility across network infrastructure and cloud services.
• Develop automation solutions using scripting and AI-enabled capabilities to improve operational efficiency.
• Integrate network security telemetry with incident management platforms to enhance monitoring coverage.
• Create operational dashboards and metrics to measure detection coverage and service reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to define secure network architectures and monitoring standards.
