Job description
The Platform Application Engineer for Cloud AI Infrastructure at Google is focused on solving customer issues through deep hardware analysis and debugging. This role is part of the AI Infrastructure Engineering Support team, which ensures customers maximize their Google Cloud hardware investments. The engineer will troubleshoot complex technical challenges and collaborate with various teams to drive improvements in products and services. The position requires a strong understanding of AI/ML workloads and hardware architectures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of debug or validation experience with CPU, dGPU, or TPU.
- 4 years of experience with technical infrastructure, including deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- 3 years of experience with hardware debug, including silicon debug and memory analysis.
- Experience debugging technical issues across the hardware/software stack.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer problems through effective diagnosis and resolution.
- Collaborate with Product, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve products.
- Debug platform hardware and silicon-related issues to drive root-cause resolution.
- Troubleshoot and reproduce customer-reported issues related to AI/ML workloads.
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders.
