Job description
The Securitized Products Group Salesperson is a developing professional role focused on supporting senior sales professionals in managing institutional clients across various financial products. The role requires a solid understanding of industry standards and practices, as well as analytical thinking and attention to detail. The salesperson will interact directly with clients to understand their investment objectives and assist with transaction execution. This position also involves close collaboration with control functions to ensure compliance and effective governance.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of relevant experience
- Prior sales experience at a financial services organization
- Broad client relationships preferred
- Experience in a client-facing role working with the buy-side community
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Must have or be able to obtain licenses required, Series 3, 7, 55, 63
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Support senior sales professionals covering institutional clients across various financial products.
- Assist with the daily execution, booking, and settlement of client transactions.
- Communicate and interact directly with clients to understand their investment objectives and respond to inquiries.
- Prepare trade confirmations, pricing runs, inventory lists, and client-facing market updates.
- Work in close partnership with control functions to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
- Monitor trade activity, settlement status, allocations, and potential breaks, resolving issues as they arise.
- Maintain client coverage records, transaction histories, contact information, and account documentation.
- Help distribute new-issue information, deal announcements, offering materials, and secondary-market opportunities.
- Track client inquiries, axes, bids wanted in competition, offerings, and follow-up items.
- Assist salespeople with client meeting preparation, presentations, market data, and portfolio analysis.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client requests while developing an understanding of each account’s investment objectives.
- Ensure all activities comply with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control procedures.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of securitized products, market conventions, and the broader fixed-income market.
- Provide general administrative and organizational support to the senior sales team.
