Job description
The AlphaWise Quant team at Morgan Stanley Equity Research is seeking a VP-level candidate in New York to conduct quantamental research using AI and ML to generate alpha. This role involves collaborating with equity analysts to combine quantitative processes with fundamental insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative fields and programming skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex solutions effectively. The team focuses on developing innovative models and tools to enhance investment strategies.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, data science, computer science, or financial engineering, with a PhD preferred.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience in a UNIX/Linux environment.
- 1-5 years of development experience.
- Deep understanding of statistical learning methods and proficiency in working with large datasets.
- Experience with Deep Learning and LLMs is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Combine quantitative processes with fundamental insights to forecast company key performance indicators.
- Develop, backtest, and implement quant models to test the efficacy of various alternative data.
- Explore cutting-edge tools such as genAI and LLMs to gain insights into new alpha.
- Publish leading research insight notes and present at industry conferences.
- Actively source new ideas and collaborate with other research teams.
- Build tools to query, clean, and analyze raw data through databases.
