Job description

The Staff Data Scientist role on the Google Health Search team focuses on defining the future of AI-generated health guidance. This high-impact position involves developing evaluation frameworks and methodologies to ensure the safety and quality of AI-powered health answers. The role requires collaboration with Product and Engineering leaders to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations. Candidates will apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to address challenges in health information.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 6 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
  • 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 8 years of work experience with a PhD degree.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop advanced analysis and causal inference analysis of impact.
  • Create new methodologies to identify product opportunities from various data sources.
  • Initiate projects inside and across the organization and drive them to completion autonomously.
  • Frame and solve ambiguous business problems and communicate the solutions effectively.
  • Interact cross-functionally and influence a wide range of product stakeholders.
