Salesforce is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to focus on Android accessibility for the Slack app. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance the usability of Slack for all users. The engineer will be responsible for driving accessibility initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards, and mentoring other engineers. • 5+ years of Android engineering experience, including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose in a team environment.
• Hands-on expertise with Android accessibility APIs and TalkBack behavior.
• Experience building or maintaining accessibility testing infrastructure.
• Familiarity with accessibility compliance frameworks such as WCAG and VPAT.

• Drive accessibility for Slack Kit Compose components by auditing and fixing issues.
• Diagnose and fix TalkBack/framework issues and generalize fixes into shared utilities.
• Own and evolve Android accessibility test suites and infrastructure.
• Provide accessibility guidance to feature teams on complex UI work.
• Lead VPAT compliance efforts and document Slack’s compliance posture.
• Plan and run accessibility testing across major features.
• Represent Android in cross-platform mobile accessibility planning.
• Mentor Android engineers on accessibility best practices.
